This is probably one of those things that you have to do in your lifetime. Dolphins are amongst the smarter mammals on Earth.

The dolphin sea-quarium is located on kilometre 11 of Autopista Sur (the highway connecting Matanzas city with Varadero). It belong to the Rumbos Tourism and recreation Group.

There are three daily shows. It is about 1/2 hour long and in addition, offers the opportunity of swimming with these graceful, harmless sea mammals for about 45 mins for about $70.00. If you take a camera with you they will charge you $5 CUC to take a picture of you with the dolphins, otherwise you can buy a picture for $8 CUC (8×10).

A good way to enjoy a day in Varadero is to book one of this Catamaran excursios for any hotel. They take you out cruising along the shores of this lovely beach. It’s a half day excursion with plenty of time to swim with dolphins and do much more. It cost about $90.00

I did this Catamaran trip ad it was a great day out. The catamaran takes you to a place called Cayo Blanco which is a little virgin island near Varadero and at the end you get to do the swimming with dolphins bit for about 30 mins

Last time I went to Varadero the cost of this excursion was $60.00. That was 4 years ago. Things are slightly more expensive in Cuba now with the ne currency CUC.

Some one asked me if it was possible to to swimming with dolphins in Havana.

The answer is No. You can find a show with dolphins in the National Acuarium in Havana but it does not involve swimming with dolphins.

I went to Cuba in Feb of this year and took the trip to swim with the dolphins. I am going again with my children this November. Can anybody tell me if you know of a way to book and pay for this trip ahead of time? I’d rather go to Cuba with everything already booked and paid for, and not have to worry about it all when I get down there.
