Quaint Beach Villages CAn Offer An Action Packed Vacation

Posted by Martin Rolee on December 23rd, 2010 under Travel Tags: , , , , , , , ,  •  No Comments

For the family, there are Delaware vacation houses as well as a variety of hotel and resort accommodations (and for the adventurous, camping destinations next to the shore). For couples, the selection could be one of the wonderful Delaware bed and breakfasts that dot the Atlantic coast. Regardless, these are the very best places to start your beach holiday along the Delaware coast.

Depending on when they are planning to visit, folks must plan ahead and reserve their Delaware beach rentals well ahead of time, especially for the summer time. Fortunately, there is an Internet site that makes this particularly easy. At HomeAway (http://www.HomeAway.com), tourists should find a unique tool that makes it stress-free to research the right beach rentals. Using virtual sliders located on the side of the page, simply set the parameters according to price range (per week), number of bedrooms and bathrooms, how many shall be staying and the type of accommodation one is seeking (for instance a house, cabin, condo rentals, etc.)

Prior to choosing accommodations however, one will want to settle upon a destination – and Delaware has a number of beach resorts and communities, each one offering its own distinctive holiday atmosphere.

For a more upbeat and dynamic experience that should be enjoyed by the entire family, Rehoboth is a good choice. This is a small but lively seaside community containing its own mile-long boardwalk lined with arcades and appealing specialty shops and unique cafes. For the children, there is also a small amusement park near the water along with an old-fashioned small town pavilion where live music is presented frequently.

Rehoboth is not faraway from Dewey Beach, a popular Spring Break destination. Dewey Beach is unique in being situated on a spit of land flanked by Rehoboth Bay and the open Atlantic; the bay side of the community is well known for its suitability for water sports activities including windsurfing and sailing.

Lewes is one more small seaside town of historical interest; settled by Dutch whalers in the 1600s, it was bombarded by British Naval forces in the course of the War of 1812. With the start of the Second World War, the Defense Department constructed Fort Miles, the largest, most heavily armed coastal base in the united states (due mainly to the number of war-related industries around Delaware Bay, potentially vulnerable to German U-Boats that prowled the Atlantic Coast). Today, Lewes is home to a nautical museum that attracts history buffs from all over. Another attractive characteristic of Lewes is that the waters around the region are fairly calm, making it perfect for people with young kids who like swimming.

For those seeking a more relaxed, laid-back holiday, we propose Bethany Beach along with Fenwick, Delaware’s “Quiet Resorts.” While these locations are considered family-friendly and feature a slower-paced atmosphere, they aren’t deprived of facilities that the family will enjoy.

As you are able to see, the Delaware coast has quite a bit to provide in terms of variety of experience. Consider visiting in the off season to get the best rates on beach rental accommodations, romantic travel inns and additional getaway rentals.

Things To Consider About Spring Break 2011

Posted by Matt Pitman on December 22nd, 2010 under Travel Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,  •  No Comments

Spring break 2011 is closing in on us rapidly, and students who haven’t figured out where they are going are starting to scramble. Even some vacations that seem like everyone would enjoy are not right for everybody, so each person needs to think about what they want to be doing during this time off. Working in developing nations, working on your tan, and working on your family relationships are all options.

Many students go home for most of their breaks, and this one isn’t necessarily an exception. Being away at college is often the first time that people have lived anywhere other than their parents’ homes for long periods of time, and it can be hard to be away. Even those who aren’t incredibly homesick often choose to go just because they want to see family members.

Other students take what is well known as the typical spring break experience. This seems to involve some sort of beach most of the time, but can also include other destinations. Anywhere that invokes a party atmosphere with limited responsibilities is popular. Going on a Las Vegas spring break allows lots of time for drinking and gambling, but only if you’re over 21.

Financially, going on vacation is a hardship. This is no less true whether you have to take time off from school or it’s just given to you. Especially if your classmates have parents who are footing the bill for a week in Hawaii, it can be difficult to cope with the reality that you can’t afford to leave town. Hopefully, this isn’t the case.

Going on a trip that doesn’t range so far afield is always cheaper, but if you aren’t planning the trip, you may be left with no influence as to where it goes. Students that can’t afford to take the group vacation dreamed up by whoever is in charge of planning are often left with two undesirable choices: go and run short on money, or don’t go at all.

If neither drinking heavily nor visiting the folks appeals, there is a third option. Visiting a developing nation while on a volunteer vacation can provide something valuable to a poor community and look good on your applications and resumes. Many universities and outside groups sponsor these trips, and count on students joining them during their breaks.

Spring break 2011 is almost upon us, so whatever you plan to do, it’s time to decide. Less privileged nations need your help, your parents want you to come home, and a beach is calling your name. Just make sure you don’t spend it in your dorm.

Get exclusive inside information on where to go for Spring Break 2011 now in our overview of exquisite Las Vegas Spring Break packages.

The Top 10 Tropical Islands to visit in 2011

Posted by Gary Johnson on December 11th, 2010 under Travel Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,  •  No Comments

When we first set about compiling this list of the Top 10 Tropical Island Paradises we started with the idea of the typical story book desert island, but of course that’s a deserted island and not exactly what we wanted. Our perfect tropical island needs luxury and exclusivity, but also we need to be pampered, looked after and provided for. So which did we decide were our Top 10 Tropical Island Paradises for 2011?

Antigua – A beautiful Caribbean Island that is part of the Leeward Islands group. Stunning beaches in shades of pink through to white, coral reefs for snorkelling and diving. These are just a few of the things that make Antigua so special. No wonder it’s popular for honeymoons and as a wedding destination. Celebrity spotting is almost a sport here, well a laid back sport at least. Our choice location on Antigua is Nonsuch Bay with its secluded beach and 40 acres of landscaped tropical grounds.

Aruba – A Southern Caribbean island with something for everyone, the swaying palms and stunning white beaches need to be seen to be believed. Druif Beach is just one of these and here you will find the Tamarijn where you can stay right alongside the beach in an Ocean Front Room listening to the sounds of the Caribbean Sea.

Cayman Islands – Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman are the three islands that make up this stunning trio. They are set in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Western Caribbean. Don’t miss out on the amazing Lionfish Roundup event at Pirates Point Resort on Little Cayman.

Fiji – A movie star island in the South Pacific. A movie star because it has starred in many movies over the years and now the movies stars themselves come here to play. Fiji is to the north of New Zealand and is actually a collection of more than 300 stunning individual islands with typical tropical paradise shallow waters and white beaches. Places to stay are just as diverse, from a 5 star beach resort to backpacking through jungles. One choice is the amazing 174 acre private island resort of Castaway Island.

Maldives – Everyone has heard of the Maldives but not all are lucky enough to have visited this stunning part of the world. Over 1000 tiny islands and atolls scatterred in the sea. Everyone arrives at the capital Male before skimming across the open sea to the island resort of your choice. Ours was Full Moon Resort with bungalows sitting on stilts above the water on this tiny island that takes just minutes to walk around.

Mauritius – A relatively large tropical island paradise, well compared with some of our other Top 10 choices anyway. Easy to get to and something for everyone when you get there. Like any great tropical island we have the required clear warm waters and white sands here on Mauritius. There are also a broad range of places to stay, we really like Le Saint Geran, a private peninsula jutting out into the ocean.

Perhentian Islands – A pair of islands that feel like you have gone back in time. No roads here, transport is by boat along the coast, or if you prefer, a trek through the jungle. The Arwana Eco Resort is on our must go list.

Seychelles – Just north of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean are the hundred or so islands that make up the Seychelles. Every last one stunningly beautiful. The second largest island is Preslin with it’s towering palm trees that are inhabited by rare species of birds and animals.

St Lucia – The Eastern Caribbean sea is where we find exotic, esoteric and ethereal St Lucia. A backdrop of wooded hills overlooking stunning beaches. In St Lucia there is an activity for everbody from horse riding to snorkelling, from diving in the clear waters to hiking through the forests. Jaw dropping Jalousie Plantation has got to be the place to stay here.

Tahiti – Queen of the pacific, star of many movies is Tahiti and quite rightly so. For somewhere special to stay in Tahiti try the Intercontinental Tahiti resort with it’s own private beach and prepare to be pampered.

Rio de Janeiro May Be The Hottest Spot In Brazil, But Foz do Iguacu Is The Most Spectacular

Posted by Josh Henry on November 29th, 2010 under Travel Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,  •  No Comments

Among the most amazing attractions within South America is renowned Iguassu Falls (Foz do Iguacu). These staggering falls are breathtaking and rest along the boundary of Brazil and Argentina. The Iguassu Waterfalls are much more extensive and wider in comparison to the widely known Niagara Falls and truly superb sight to discover.

The falls can be visited anytime of the year, though the falls are at their most magnificent amongst the months of December to March, which will be the rainy season. In the arid season, the site is not as much spectacular – at the height of the arid season (August and September) there’s been a small amount of water present at times in the past.

The views of Iguassu Waterfalls are astonishing. Sightseers don’t want to overlook the view of the compelling falls plunging over twenty floors to the gorge below. The Brazilian half of the falls feature amazing views of the the Devil’s Throat and the Argentina side which, when on that Argentina half, you will get the best close up views of all with its many catwalks meandering around the falls.

Foz do Iguacu are an element of a single practically virgin jungle environment guarded by Argentine and Brazilian national parks on either side of the cascades. Two thirds of the waterfalls are on the Argentinian side of the waterway where you can also tour Iguacu National Park where you’ll find jungle trails and bird hikes. Please arrange a full two days to view the waterfalls and enjoy the animals, flora and fauna. You’ll require 1 day for the Brazil side and another for the Argentina side.

While many visitors to Brazil make their one and only stay in Rio de Janeiro, and whilst Brazil has a great many other amazing cities to visit, if there were one other should discover spot other than Rio de Janeiro, it might be the Iguassu Falls. Crucial Observation: Whenever visiting Rio de Janeiro, Foz do Iguacu or any other city in Brazil, opt for renting an apartment as a substitute for staying in a hotel. You wil learn that with apartment rentals in Brazil, you will have more freedom and even more space.

Rio Exclusive has some of the hottest apartments available for your rio de janeiro holiday vacation. Be sure to visit their site today and see how you can Rent Rio De Janeiro apartments and hotels.

Varadero – Beach Recuperation Programme

Posted by Jose Mauricio Murette on January 21st, 2009 under Travel, Varadero Tags: , , ,  •  No Comments

Havana.- Varadero Beach Resort, main beach destination in the biggest of The Antilles, will be benefited with a recovery programme devoted to improve the quality of its sandy beaches.

According to the specialists, this programme will improve the area and rocky zones, fruit of the erosive action of the ocean, will be covered with sand dragged from the sea.

The project in motion, which does not interrupt the massive winter arrival of the international tourism, has been arranged between the Cuban Ministry of Tourism and that of Science, Technology and Environment.

The ambitious project aims at the benefit of an area close to the seven thousand square meters of coastline.

Last summer in Varadero, 600 thousand cubic meters of sand were shed to improve the end of the peninsula. Up to now, two million cubic meters of sand have been introduced in the area.

Cayo Coco beaches

Posted by agnesbill2009 on January 8th, 2009 under Jardines del rey Tags: ,  •  No Comments

Ernest Hemingway, winner of the Nobel Prize for literature, used to fish in the beautiful water (of all imaginable hues of blue) around this island on board of the Pilar and, and during World War II, kept an eye on the Nazi submarines in this labyrinth of Cays.

The island is a limestone pain rimmed by beaches, cliffs, marshes, lagoons and mangrove thickets. These features plus the fact that nobody lived here, made it an ideal hideaway for corsairs and pirates, who used to bury their treasures in this little islands. Ships loaded with great wealth and bound for Spain were often sunk in its waters.

Cayo Coco has 13.6 miles of creamy-white sandy beaches bathed by green-blue waters. There are 9 beaches in Cayo Coco of which Flamencos, Las Coloradas and La Jaula are the most popular. The section of seabed around Cayo Coco is considered one of the most important of the north coast of Cuba and in the Caribbean. The island is abundant in vegetation, and you can find large colonies of pink Flamingos, as well as other birds, molluscs and reptiles.
